What motivates you?
My last blog was about inspiration. I’m sure that apart from inspiration it’s motivation that we need more than ever now. I'm interested to know what motivates all of you. With everything that's currently going on in the world it can be difficult sometimes to stay motivated and positive. So I think it’s important we focus on whatever it is that keeps us positive and motivates us.
During lock down I've found that it really helps to keep some sort of routine going. So I've been doing workouts first thing in the morning and start my workday after breakfast. I realise I’m lucky to be able to do this and create my own schedule. Keeping as active as you can is very important and it really does keep your spirits up. Although some days it's easier to find the motivation to work out than others :-)
I decided to start my jewellery business just before the pandemic struck. It was something I wanted to do for a while and I was very excited to finally be able to give it a go. I’m someone who gets stuck in and once I start I’m determined to do everything to make something a success. I had a plan and started working on. And then we were in lockdown. Ok, so now what?
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster for all of us. Everybody’s experiencing their own challenges. For me it has been so mixed, the excitement of staring my own business and being able to be creative on one hand. On the other there is me having no experience in business at all and hoping I’ll make a success of it, hoping people will still want to and are able to buy jewellery. These days you may not get the opportunities you did only a few months ago, whether that’s making a success of my business or trying to find a new job.
So for me – apart from nature, people’s fun shares on social media and my husband and cat – my motivation comes from you! Receiving your feedback, whether it’s a compliment, suggestions or constructive criticism it’s all helping me to become better, more inspired, more positive and more motivated to say “yes, this will be a success”.
Let me know what motivates you and what keeps you going. We can all learn from each other.
